Toto dvojalbum nás tedy zve na unikátní hudební
cestu z Evropy do Asie prostřednictvím španělského
katolického misionáře Francise Xaviera,
spoluzakladatele jezuitského řádu. V letech
1541-1552 vedl tento misionář několik expedic na
Východ (Mozambik, Indie, Čína, Japonsko aj.).
Patřil k prvním Evropanům, kteří mohli objevit
japonskou civilizaci. Ke křesťanství přivedl
nejvíce lidí od dob sv. Pavla. V evangelizaci
východních zemí hrála velkou roli právě hudba -
Jezuité obvykle adaptovali křesťanské texty na
místní melodie, a tím dosáhli značného úspěchu.
Jordi Savall nám svým neopakovatelným stylem
představuje hudbu mnoha různých kultur - západní
hudební dědictví, obohacené o africké perkuse i
